Yesterday morning, our dear Benjamin left this world for a better place where he won't suffer any more.
We love you and miss you, Benji-boo. You brought us a lot of happiness and laughter in the five years we had together.

May he rest in peace. How is Maggie (that's Benjamin's mate, right?) handling it? I know it makes you sad. I have a cat that has cancer and who will probaly have to be put down before Thanksgiving. 2 Christmases ago, I had to put down my best animal friend ever (my cat Jack). What was wrong with Benjamin?
Thank you. Maggie was even more withdrawn than usual at first (she's always a shy girl), but she seems to be doing better.
He had a protozoa infection that most pet rabbits carry, but usually their immune systems can keep in in check. He was a rescue bunny and had a hard first year of life, plus was probably inbred, so it finally got the best of him. He'd been going downhill rapidly & we think he had a stroke early Sunday - it affects the brain & nervous system. It was a very hard decision, but e took him to be euthanized because he couldn't control his muscles or eat.
